This is a strategic, client-facing role offering real influence over growth within one of the fastest-moving parts of the UK energy sector.
The Role
Reporting into senior leadership within the energy division, you’ll support existing client frameworks while actively developing new relationships and revenue streams across the renewable connections market. Working closely with bid teams, technical specialists and delivery colleagues, you’ll help shape winning strategies for complex infrastructure opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and managing strategic client relationships within the non-regulated electricity market
- Identifying and targeting opportunities within ICP, IDNO and renewable generation connections
- Undertaking detailed market research to inform growth strategies and client targeting
- Preparing and maintaining client development plans and opportunity pipelines
- Mapping client stakeholders and engaging decision-makers at all levels
- Supporting bid teams with win strategies, client insight, bid writing and governance
- Ensuring CRM systems are accurately maintained with pipeline and client intelligence
- Representing the business at industry events, workshops and conferences
- Collaborating across divisions to share intelligence, best practice and market insight
About You
- Strong background in business development, account management or work-winning within energy, utilities or infrastructure
- Excellent understanding of the non-regulated electricity market, including ICP and renewable connections
- Familiarity with DNO and National Grid operating environments
- Experience supporting or leading bids for multi-million-pound engineering or infrastructure projects
- Confident communicator, able to present solutions to senior client stakeholders
- Commercially astute, with strong research, planning and opportunity-tracking skills
- Comfortable working to deadlines and managing multiple priorities
- Experience using CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce)
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally
Why This Role?
This is a high-impact opportunity to play a key role in shaping growth across renewable energy infrastructure at a national level. You’ll work closely with senior leadership, have visibility across major frameworks and projects, and be trusted to build long-term client relationships in a rapidly evolving market.
